Bus Service 171 (2)

Yeah I got the reply from a SENIOR officer after about 1 month.
Read it, the you will feel even frustrated!

Thank you for your feedback regarding bus service 171.
We apologise for the incident that you encountered on 12 February 2009.
We shared your frustration that sometime the service is delayed and certainly agree that good schedule adherence is critical. Please be assured that where it is within our control, we have been and are continuing to try our very utmost to minimise disruptions> and improve the frequency when necessary.

With regard to two buses arrive almost the same time, we wish to explain that such situation occurs when the first bus gets caught in traffic congestion, causing it to be behind scheduled time and in turn picks up more passengers resulting in the headway to be lengthened further. The second bus which may not be caught by traffic congestion as traffic is easing out would then "catch up" with the first bus and would seem relatively empty when compared, due to lesser passengers boarding this bus.

We seek your understanding on this matter and thank you for writing in.
